Xabi Alonso came through at Real Sociedad and was an influential member of the team which challenged for La Liga in 2002/03, only to miss out by two points.

After five years at Liverpool, Alonso moved back to Spain to join Real Madrid. The former midfielder reflects on being part of the team which helped Los Blancos win La Decima. He also touches on working under Jose Mourinho, talking about how disappointed he is that they couldn’t win Europe’s top prize under the Portuguese.

  1. lol maybe he should have played better when Barcelona as well as Dortmund-Klopp owned you. Unbelievably over-rated player. It's great modern football have gone away from waste of time slow, easily marked and outplayed players like Alonso. 4-3-3.
